WNY Families Invited to Free Summer Track Series Wednesdays in July
Project Play Western New York will be hosting a free Summer Track Series on Wednesdays in July starting July 10.
Project Play Western New York will be hosting a free Summer Track Series on Wednesdays in July starting July 10. These free developmental track meets are for kids ages 13 and under. There will be two sites for these events: on July 10 and 24, the meets will be held at Niagara Falls High School Field House (3980 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls); on July 17 and 31, the meets will be at All High Stadium (2885 Main Street, Buffalo). Registration starts at 5 p.m., with the event starting at 6 p.m.
The meets will introduce children to the fun and inclusive sport of track and field. They focus less on winning and more on developing track and field skills. Participants will have the option to participate in sprinting, jumping and throwing events. They will also become members of USA Track and Field and meet coaches from local youth track clubs.
“Our goal is to provide an avenue for kids to sample sports they might not normally be exposed to,” said Bridget Niland, Director of Project Play Western New York. “Through our Summer Track Series, they are able to try out various field events in a low pressure, educational and fun setting.”
The event is free and registration is recommended but not required. Register here.
