Grantee Spotlight: The Champion Project

During these unprecedented times, Project Play Western New York remains grateful for all of our partners in youth sports across the region. As always, we are honored to share the important work of our grantees.

The Champion Project, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused on providing sport opportunities for children of all abilities in the Western New York community.  Established in 2014, The Champion Project works hand in hand with Niagara Frontier Sports to create sport opportunities for every athlete, encouraging lifelong participation in sport. The mission of The Champion Project is to provide opportunities and guidance for kids to become champions, developed through organized sports, free play and a focus on child-centered communities.

A 2018 grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Funds administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo supported The Champion Project’s “Extending Our Reach” volleyball clinics, which included developing co-ed programming geared toward youth living in underprivileged and underrepresented areas.
